Ecumenical and Traditional weavings
At the Three Strands Studio the visitor can watch the transformation of fiber to fabric. While spinning, dyeing and weaving all take place at the studio, the emphasis is primarily on weaving and the exploration of color. The result is functional textiles for the home that turn everyday objects into items of beauty.

The Three Strands Studio is located in the North Beach neighborhood of Port Townsend, Washington, and is open by appointment. Come by and view the works in progress, browse through this year’s collection, or choose the colors off the shelf for your own unique piece.

Featuring textiles for the home, outerwear, and ecumenical weaving.
Three Strands Handwovens
Rebekah S. Cadorette, first trained, as a weaver of words, to find strands of metaphor and colorful synonyms to convey an emotion or picture or idea.

Trained second, as a naturalist and scientist, to see pattern and complexity and the beauty of connection in systems and individuals.

Trained third as an artist, to create beauty with color and texture and pattern; to make useful items that will also bring pleasure just by the very fact of their existence.

Ultimate goal: to make cloth so beautiful that, even if it were not practical or useful (which it is), it would still give joy just in the viewing.

Rebekah lives and works in the Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, Washington. She can be found most Saturdays, May through October, at the Port Townsend Farmers Market spinning specialty yarns or weaving napkins on a rigid heddle loom. Her garments and textiles for the home can be found at galleries and fine boutiques around the country. She lives within sight of the Straits of Juan de Fuca with her husband and numerous offspring.
